Tour de l'Alberta
On a warm sunny 25th of July, in an area surrounding Morinville Alberta, the North Central Alberta Radio Club for the second year provided the event communications. This event has approximately 800 cyclists and an additional 300 volunteers which encompasses 4 different tour lengths. (20 km's, 50 km's, 100 km's & 185 km's) The following is a collage from this event.

The club members enjoyed the event and felt they had provided a service necessary to all as well as having been most courteously and generously treated. In all the tour was a well attended event of which the organizers can be justly proud. For more information check the Tour de l'Alberta website.

VE6LAW VE6LAW

The VE6LAW Repeater has been moved to it's new home at the Fire Station #3, 100 Giroux Road, St. Albert (53.38.39N, 113.40.20W) and IS OPERATIONAL!! The frequency is located at 146.94 (-). Our testing from this site has provided some very good results with excellent coverage through out St. Albert and the Edmonton area.

VE6LAW is connected to EchoLink which allows licenced Amateur Radio stations to communicate with one another over the Internet, using voice-over-IP (VoIP) technology. The program allows worldwide connections to be made between stations, or from computer to station, greatly enhancing Amateur Radio's communications capabilities. There are more than 200,000 validated users worldwide - in 162 of the world's nations - with 4,000 online at any given time. NCAARC uses a Kenwood TM-V71A radio for this purpose.
