So I’m guessing you want to know where and when this event will be….

    Edmonton, Alberta
    T5L 4T3

    When:
    Saturday February 7, 2015
Doors open at 10:00 AM for vendors
Doors open to Public at 12:00 Noon

Tables are $10.00 each (not including your admission).  Contact VE6BCA via email if you want a table.

NCAARC will have a table at this event and will be selling some items.  Be sure to stop by and say hi, and renew your membership for 2015 if you haven’t already done so.

    Hope to see you there!

Have you ever wanted to learn about balloons and APRS? This coming Saturday (September 20, 2014) is your chance. In place of our regular monthly board meeting we will be enjoying a presentation put on by Tony Rafaat. The meeting is at the usual time of 9:30 AM and will take place at Fire Station #3 in St. Albert. anyone interested in attending is welcome, member or not.

Tony has provided a link to the project website which is http://sable.spschools.org/. Check out the gallery and see just what they can manage with a bit of gas, a balloon, a camera, and of course ham radio. The radio side of things is used for tracking the balloon so they can retrieve the payload. Being that I’m no expert on the topic they may use it for other purposes as well.

Not sure what APRS is. Here is a link to a a page with a good overview. http://www.g4ilo.com/aprs.html

Hope to see you at 9:30 AM on September 20th!
