  • Did you know?

The North Central Alberta Amateur Radio Club now has a DStar repeater online in St. Albert. VE6JKB is online, however it is on a temporary antenna until we can get a new antenna on the mast.

    Details:
    VE6JKB Module B
    444.250+ MHz

Coverage from what I’ve been able to determine ranges from Spruce Grove to Sherwood Park. With a base antenna it’s possible to get into it from Millwoods, but it does require high power to get in. I have not determined the coverage to the north.

Also did you know that IRLP is coming to VE6LAW? Mark (VE6BHO) and Myself (VA6AWS) have been working on installing an SCOM 7330 controller and a combo IRLP/Echolink node on VE6LAW. Stay tuned for updates on when it will be fully installed.

If you haven’t already marked your calendars for February 7, 2015, make sure you get out that big red pen and write down SARA Flea Market. This event will likely be the biggest we’ve seen in the Edmonton area for a while.

The following commercial vendors will be here:

    • NTF Communications
    • Radioworld Central

So I’m guessing you want to know where and when this event will be….

    Where:
    Dutch Canadian Centre
    13312 142 Street
    Edmonton, Alberta
    T5L 4T3

    When:
    Saturday February 7, 2015
Doors open at 10:00 AM for vendors
Doors open to Public at 12:00 Noon
Admission is $5.00 at the door

Tables are $10.00 each (not including your admission).  Contact VE6BCA via email if you want a table.

NCAARC will have a table at this event and will be selling some items.  Be sure to stop by and say hi, and renew your membership for 2015 if you haven’t already done so.

    Hope to see you there!
