  • Interested?

Are you are interested in what amateur/HAM radio is all about?  This video provides a great overview of what radio is all about.  The video is about 19 minutes long but touches on a lot of facets of what radio is all about.  It also covers some of the ways you can get involved in your community and put your radio skills to work.

  • St. Albert Civic Volunteer Fair

NCAARC was at the St. Albert Civic Volunteer Fair.  Dave (VE6KD), Paul (VE6PGA) and Hans (VE6HBA) manned the table and answered questions from interested people.  Steve (VE6STE) helped arrange materials to displayed.

    Well done guys!

  • 2013 Fire Prevention Week

On October 6 we had the opportunity to participate in the Fire Prevention Week open house at Fire Station #3. The event was well attended by members of the community and it was a great chance for us to show off ham radio.

We were able to have the trailer setup inside the firehall.  The doors were open so the public were able to come in and see various demonstrations and ask questions.  We were able to show off APRS, ARES, 2m, and HF operations.  Mark (VE6BHO) was able to string up a dipole antenna outside and participate in the California QSO Party.

Thanks to VA6AWS, VE6BHO, VE6KD, and VE6STE for making this event a success.
